Although the origins of VLUX go back to the creation in 1845 of a manufactory of tortoiseshell spectacle frames, VLUX is, since 1975, widely known for its weatherproof lighting fixtures.
As such, VLUX masters the techniques of injection, extrusion, thermoforming and compression moulding of glass-fiber reinforced polyester as well as the assembly and the wiring of the ready to sell final products.
As a unique feature in the lighting industry, VLUX manufactures its own glass-fiber reinforced polyester, which is one of the raw materials necessary for the production of weatherproof lighting fixtures.
This world class SMC (sheet moulding compound) production line also allows VLUX to sell outside the lighting industry
glass-fiber reinforced polyester and polyester products.
